M/Y SPECTRE

Livorno, Benetti Yachts’ yard, Italy, November 19, 2018

Named after the famous James Bond spy novel, M/Y SPECTRE has been delivered on Monday, November 19th. An innovative project for a very experienced owner, managed by Nicola Nicolai from concept design, through negotiation, to production and delivery.

A fast displacement full-custom 69-meter Benetti’s superyacht featuring a timeless exterior design by talented yacht designer Giorgio M. Cassetta and an advanced high-speed cruising hull specifically developed for the project by famous naval architect Frank Mulder of the Dutch firm Mulder Design allowing a top speed over 21.2 knots, which is 30 per cent higher than a traditional displacement hull, and has an impressive range of 6,500 nautical miles at a 12-knot speed.

M/Y Spectre is fitted with Ride Control technology by Naiad Dynamics, representing an absolute novelty for this type of superyachts. Originally developed for commercial and naval ships, and specially configured for the project by Mulder Design, the system significantly increases stability during navigation and improves comfort on board with the help of four stabilising fins and three vertically adjustable blades.

With a steel hull and aluminium superstructure arranged on five decks, swimming pool and a ‘touch and go’ helipad, M/Y Spectre is designed to accommodate 12 guests with the maximum of comfort. The layout features two owner’s cabins (one has a private terrace, a sun lounging area and a hydromassage tub), two VIP cabins on the Main Deck and two guest cabins on the lower deck. Interiors, designed by Benetti’s Interior Style Department, are inspired by the Art Deco and Liberty moods of French Hotels and boutiques. Exterior sleek lines by Giorgio M. Cassetta feature a long and sharp bow and extended superstructure volumes which slide towards the stern, conferring the design a sporty look which aims to reflect the appeal of 1950s and 1960s Italian sports cars.
